It’s time to “re-center” college and university bond ratings.
Based on Standard & Poor’s downgrading of Amherst College’s bond rating from a AAA to AA+, I think it’s time we do the right thing and just re-center bond ratings.
Isn’t this what we did with standardized test scores when we thoughts scores didn’t reflect reality? When the standards started to seem outrageous we just re-centered the scores, right?
We should do the same with bond ratings.
How can Amherst and Williams (both of which recently received a downgrade) not be the top achievers among us?
By the way, a re-centering would be good for all of us.
